BOLGATTY ISLAND :
This tropical island is famous for its palace of the same name. The Bolgatty
Palace was built in 1744 by the Dutch and later taken over by the British. Today
it is hotel run by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation, with a small
golf course and special honeymoon cottages.
MARINE
DRIVE-PARK AVENUE-FINEARTS AVENUE :
Located on the Ernakulam foreshore, facing the backwaters, the view from this
breeze-swept stretch is enchanting. The area is also famous for its shopping.
Park Avenue has many parks.
SIVA
TEMPLE :
Located near the old Collectorate in Park Avenue, this is one of the largest
temples in Kerala
HILL
PALACE MUSEUM :
The Hill Palace was the home of the Rajas of Kochi in the 19th century. Its
is now a museum and displays archaeological finds. Its is located at Tripunithura,
6km from the city. It is closed on Mondays.
VYPIN
ISLAND :
Vypin Island is one of the most densely populated island in the country. The
southern part of the island is within city limits. From Kochi you can reach
Vypin either by boat or through newly constructed Goshree Bridges.
CHERAI
BEACH :
Cherai Beach is 8 km from Kochi and is rightly called the princess of The
Queen of the Arabian Sea. The 15km of long clean golden beach and the
calm serene backwaters on the other side with the land filled with coconut trees
in between make this land of the Mother Nature Unique in the world.
